Foam roofing: aquality, economical solution to
your new and existing flat roof needs
The Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing systems withConklin coatings provide an attractive, durable, and waterproofcovering that bonds tightly to nearly any properly preparedsurface. The foam is applied with specialty spray equipment thatmixes two liquid components to form a rigid polyurethane foam(PUF). It's so lightweight—about 8 ounces per square foot—it can beapplied over most existing roof systems without exceeding thestructural load capacity. Yet it's amazingly strong, easilywithstanding light foot traffic and other weight requirements.

For most installations the old roof stays on, saving you$.25 to $.75/square foot in tear-off costs, speeding up theinstallation time and causing less disruption at your work site. The economical installation is only the start of the money you cansave. The insulating foam keeps heat from penetrating in the summeror escaping in the winter, permanently lowering heating andair-conditioning costs for most owners.
Virtually leak proof: eliminate the problem areas wheremost leaks start
A typical single-ply roof system has thousands of linear feet ofseams and hundreds of mechanical fasteners—all prime candidates forfuture leaks. Foam roofing also offers the advantage of beingself-flashing: during installation, the foam flows around allprotrusions, such as roof vents and cooling units, forming a tightbond that seals off places leaks can start.
Energy efficient: more thermal resistance than any otherinsulation material
As energy costs keep climbing, owners choose foam roofing for itsoutstanding insulating properties. Unlike other roof systems, theentire thickness of a foam roof is high-grade insulation. SPF'sclosed-cell structure stops air infiltration, the chief culprit ofmost energy losses. A one-inch thickness has an insulating R-valueof 7, higher than any other insulating material. Conklin roofingsystems has met the guidelines and acceptance criteria for theEPA/DOE Energy Star Roof Products Program.
A great finish—extending your roof's life
An important part of every foam roofing system is a high-qualitycoating, such as Conklin's Benchmark® or Rapid Roof® III acryliclatex coatings. They cure to form a seamless, flexible coveringthat protects the foam from sunlight and moisture. Plus, thereflective white finish on Conklin coatings helps make the roofingsystem even more energy efficient.
